He told me that they were having a "Twitter special". The first 50 people who signed up for the 2013 race received a personalized jacket, a pair of shorts, a hat, and a t-shirt.
All finishers receive a medal that is HUGE. They are the third largest in the country. After seeing these, I can't imagine how big the largest medal is!!!
So I signed up for next years 50 miler....... before the 2012 race had even taken place!.
With awesome swag like that, no wonder they sell out every year!

mmm I like a medal and then luxury nibbles in a SWAG bag - yummy treats I hanker after but only buy occasionally - basically feed me & I'll be happy ;-)
Those medals would make great individual plates for cupcakes :-)

A friend did this race in Texas, which is supposedly suppose to have the largest medal (but don't quote me on that). Here's his RR from a couple years ago.

I'm a total sucker for swag but I'm often disappointed, especially when I see my Italian friends swag...pasta and wine. I swear with every race they get wine. I wonder what the winners get.
I signed up for a HM because it said the best goody bag ever and the medal. The inside of the medal comes out to wear as jewelry. In 3 weeks I'm running the HM for the 3rd time and I'm supposed to get a special medal. The $90 for the race is worth getting a special medal.
I think I'm moving to Italy ;)
