We had the opportunity to watch the Ministry of Natural Resources prepare to stock several of the lakes up here.


The process.........


The tanker guys have a measured funnel, they add water to it first, then they scoop out fish from the reservoirs and add them to the funnel......



..... Like so.


I went up onto the tanker to get a couple pictures. The reservoir closest to me was almost empty by the time I got up.

Once the correct volume has been reached, the fish are released through a tube into this compartmentalized contraption on the helicopter.



Helicopter reservoir shown below (I believe there were six compartments).


Once full, the helicopter flys off to drop the fish into the various lakes.

The fish are released through the white tubes while the helicopter hovers.

Once the helicopter is empty, it comes back to reload and, the process is repeated.


Last year my dad went up and released the fish. Others had their turn this time. Cool stuff!


Gotta love having had this experience.
