Things don't always go as planned.

I ran 70.46 miles.

Even though I am disappointed that I didn't finish, I am proud that I had the courage to drop.

Today, I'm going to relax and take some time to reflect.

Gotta heal.

September 11, 2001 marked a day that will forever impact the world. It breaks my heart to realize that the pain is still so raw and fresh. I will be thinking about everyone that was affected by the attacks.

From what I've read 100 milers are always a bit of a crapshoot. Live and learn and 70 nuttin to sneeze at!

Onward!

oooooooh my goodness, 70 miles girl! I can't possibly imagine ever running that far in my life. Congrats in a major way. Wow, I almost got emotional just thinking about running that far...

70 miles is quite an accomplishment!! Right now (in my lack of cardio fitness) it'd probably take me 5-6 weeks to run that :)

Rest and heal up!

100 milers are always so tough. Congrats on making it 70+ miles. Thats no small feat. Even the very best in the sport sometimes dont finish so there is nothing to feel bad about. Honestly most runners will not even consider toeing the line of races like this.

Thanks All!!!

I am really happy with what I accomplished. I keep saying that life would be boring if it all went according to plan :-)

Looking forward to what the future brings.

You are an inspiration. When things get tough out on the course, we'll remember your courageous effort and use it for motivation. Pleasure meeting you and your family at Woodstock! Peace, Steve and Karen Sharp

Racing strategy comes in 3 forms: knowing when to sign up, knowing when to start, and knowing when to end it.

I hope you're doing OK (physically and emotionally). In my book, you aced above strategy.

Happy recovery!!

I once heard ultra phenom Anton Krupecka say that on a perfect day a 100 miler is really tough...on normal day...nearly impossible. Way to toe the line...few dare not even do that...and those are the timid souls I would rather not deal with...press on!

My heart sank when I saw your tweet. It's always a difficult decision to pull put of a race. But girl, everyone is SO right. A hundred miler is going to be tough no matter WHAT the conditions. For you to have run seventy, that's SEVENTY, 7-0 miles, sheesh. You really are superwoman! 70! At once! On the same day! So proud of you!

I've never even ran that much in a MONTH let alone at one time. I still think you are AWESOME!
