Hi my name is Stacey and I am a Nike+ GPS-A-HOLIC.
I click on the Nike+ gps icon on my iPhone. I choose "Start a new run". I can then choose to run by distance, time, or neither. Blah, blah, blah.... I start running. I could go on and on about my settings and other features but it's not my plan to bore you to death. Go to the Nike+ GPS site to read about specifics (click HERE).
Once I have finished my run, I get a verbal rundown of the distance and time that it took me. Pretty neat, but it's standard kinda stuff.
The good part:
If I have done well, I get a message from a Nike athlete. The message can be as simple as "That's your fastest 5k yet!", or "Congratulations, you've run every day this week!". Not only do I crave, I NEED, this prerecorded positive reinforcement. I
Each time I set out I want to go faster, longer, and more often. I must receive the praise (sad and pathetic... I know).
It was very difficult for me but I decided to cut yesterday's run short due to unbearably frigid and windy weather. I was absolutely stupefied when, after listening to my run summary, I got an "Attagirl". I wondered how I could possibly be receiving one after stopping short of my goal?
The Nike athlete said to me "Your training is really paying off! Your butt don't look like a wet bag of clothes anymore". Hahahahahahahaha, how fun is that? Yippee for me... got my high!!!
You've really gotta try this app. If you have, what do you think?
Gotta plan my next

Praise from my phone?!! That. rocks. And 100% dependable too.
I wonder if I can get it to "lie" to me on "off" days?!
I'm off to download.
My husband has an iPhone, but I don't think he realizes that he can turn on a GPS function! I'll have to look into that - how awesome!
