I didn't realize how much I identified myself as being a runner..... Until I could no longer run. I know when you're asked to explain who you are, terms like "I'm a wife, I'm a sister, I'm a runner...." aren't supposed to be used. You are supposed to use terms like "I'm loving, I'm generous, I'm patient etc...". What you do and what your rolls are, are not supposed to define you.... but can they?
Identifying yourself as a runner (in my humble opinion) is just
another way to define/ express the determination, strength, and perseverance that (most) runners have..... It's an innate quality. By using the word "most" I am conceding that not all runners possess those qualities, but you can always tell the ones who do.
What defines you?
Gotta run.
