Yesterday I headed out at 8:40 am to complete a 20 mile run. I was given a new breathing technique to use while running. Let's just say that it was very difficult... especially after mile 16. I find it very hard to focus on anything for long periods of time... now pair that with physical fatigue, and it's a really difficult task! I did find that it helped to keep my hips from swinging so much and that should help to alleviate my leg/ hip problems.
The day became very hot and I was conserving water because my new route did not offer "pit stops". I chose a new route so that I could run in the middle of the road (less traffic).
So blah, blah, blah.... finished run, stretched, rested, ate...... felt really good.... a little loss of cardio from the lack of training... but all was good.
Today I suited up to run..... and my knee started to hurt right out of the door. I turned around and went back to bed. I am not going to push anything. I would really like to complete my 30 mile run next week. I don't want to jeopardize my chances for success... maybe I will try a 12 mile run on Thursday?? I am going to play it safe for the rest of the week : )
