Well, after months and months of training... I have almost reached my goal. This past week I completed a 30 mile run followed the next day by a 20 mile run...... one day off and then 8 miles... which brings me to today. My legs are worn and tired and aching for more. My goal is to get them back into a healthy state so that I can complete 50 miles of "rolling" hills (crazy monstrous mountainus hills) and still be able to cross the finish line on my own two legs!
I am thinking back to when I started out on this journey and I have learned much about myself. I am very thankful for the people that have given me support throughout this crazy life that an ultrarunner lives.
A girlfriend once told me that running is a very selfish sport.... I now understand what she meant. It takes dedication and perseverance to keep training. Training takes priority over most things (my laundry pile can attest to this). Running long distances is not something that you can do without training.
My 2c!

Start that taper! When I'm well trained, I often find it's the hardest part of my race preparation. Rest up and best of luck at Sulphur Springs!
Thanks for the well wishes!!
